How It Works
Gutters protect your foundation, siding, and landscaping by channeling rainwater away from the house. The standard residential size is 5-inch K-style aluminum gutter. Upgrade to 6-inch if you have a steep roof, large roof area, or live in a heavy-rain climate. Gutter hangers (brackets) should be placed every 2 feet for durability — in snow country, every 18 inches. Seamless gutters are formed on-site from a single piece of metal, eliminating leak-prone joints. Sectional gutters come in 10 or 20-foot lengths connected with joiners and sealant.
